Now you might ask, why we need such a thing right? Or Probably you have never heard of such a thing before even?

Actually effective housekeeping can eliminate the need for common workplace hazards which can lead to a very devastating ending. It can cause all kinds of accidents, no matter how small they can be. At some cases they might even cause injuries, though not severe is still an injury nonetheless.

So what you we do you might ask? Well the first one that we are correcting is the notion that housekeeping is just about cleanliness. I can tell you now that it is not. It includes making sure that your work area is actually tidy and orderly. At a much bigger scale, it should involve proper safety protocols executed all over your workplace. These could include the proper height of certain cabinets, the spacing of the tables, how big the pantry or the meeting rooms are and so on.

At the micro level it will include examining your table if there is anything that could potentially harm anyone not aware of your table. Say a cutter that is not re-tracked or a knife lying down beneath a paper. We might actually be surprised by this but this is very important and could actually save you or someone else an accident.

Whether you are just an employee, or the HR manager, I suggest you incorporate this the next time you have a meeting as aside from your normal work, this should actually deserve an hour or two of discussion and will surely benefit the company that deals with this issue.
