One of the most irritating things when having tiles is the grout. This is the area that is present in between the tiles that can get dirty over time. It is easy if it is just dirt that it accumulates. However, grouts can also accumulate mold and mildew especially for wet environments such as the bathroom and the kitchen. This usually leaves people
wondering what to do.

Well, cleaning your grout is easy if you do not think too much about it. First, you have to define how serious the dirt is. This will depend on the amount and the length of time the dirt has been there. Deep seated dirt has been proven to be harder to remove. So you might want to look for a stronger cleanser for the job. Here are the different kinds of grout cleaners you can use.

Vinegar and Baking Soda

These two are the mildest in the list. It will not affect your skin as much as the other cleaners and it will do the job sans the expense. All you need to do is create a mixture of baking soda, water and vinegar. Get around 3 tablespoons of vinegar mixed with 3 tablespoons of water. Now mix in some baking soda until a paste is formed. You may need to make more if you have lots of grouts to clean.

Once the mixture is done, dab the cleaner into the dirty grout. Get a stiff brush and scrub it in. Contrary to what other people are doing, it is better to scrub the area in circles. Rinse it with water and mop up the remaining moisture. That should kill the bacteria.

Commercial Household Cleaners

Another type of grout cleaner is your commercial household cleaners like Lysol or other powder-based cleaners. It can work in the same way as the vinegar and baking soda mixture. All you need to do is apply the cleaner on the affected area and scrub it in circles. Then mop it up. It is also better if you have a steam cleaner. This can loosen the stains that has built up and it is more effective then regular cleaners.

Commercial Tile and Grout Cleaner

If that still did not work, then you may need to purchase a cleaner that is designed to do the job. This is the commercial tile grout cleaner. Be sure to read the instructions. Harsh products can erode the grout. This will make your life easier because you can simply spray it on and let it sit. From here, you can scrub it. The process may vary based on your cleaner so be sure to read the instructions.

Bleach

Last but not the least, there is bleach. This can irritate your skin so be sure to wear your handy gloves when you use them. Bleach is designed to remove the toughest stains from your grout. If you use it, always dilute it with water. That way, it will not erode your grout. Always read the instructions before using.
